Ypsilanti students prepare Jamaican jerk chicken for astronauts in NASA culinary competition
YPSILANTI, MI - A group of Ypsilanti Community High School students have been tinkering with a menu fit for astronauts that they’ll put to the test during an upcoming culinary challenge hosted by NASA.
Ypsilanti’s Regional Career Technical Center Culinary Arts and Bakery Science Team is one of 10 teams nationwide that will travel on April 13 to Houston, Texas, to participate in the NASA HUNCH Culinary Challenge. The Astronaut Culinary Challenge develops food items for the astronauts aboard the International Space Station from a general theme idea.
