New Marking Period and Schedule

The second marking period begins on Monday, October 21st. Students will receive new schedules and are reminded that school starts promptly at 7:30 am.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

October 23rd and 24th are half days and school is dismissed at 10:45 am.

We encourage you to attend Parent-Teacher Conferences on:
Wednesday, October 23rd, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Thursday, October 24th, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

During the conferences, we will also host a **Book Fair** in the media center. We hope you stop by and explore some great reading options for your students!

Clothes Bin Recycling Program 

Ypsilanti Community Middle School is excited to partner with Clothes Bin to help reduce textile waste and support school activities. Did you know that 85% of clothing and textiles end up in landfills, while 95% can be reused or recycled? By donating clothing and textiles, you can help fundraiser for YCMS events. The Clothes Bin is located in the YCMS parking lot and is accessible 24/7. Here is a list of accepted items:

-Clothes: Pants, skirts, dresses, shirts, etc.
- Outerwear: Coats, jackets, gloves, hats- Footwear: Shoes, boots, sneakers, sandals
- Accessories: Hats, belts, scarves
- Handbags: Purses, wallets, backpacks

Upcoming Events

- Picture Retake Day: Friday, October 25th is Picture Retake Day. If your child needs a retake, please ensure they’re prepared.
- Boys Basketball Tryouts: Monday, October 28th after school. Encourage your students to try out!

Halloween Celebration
On Thursday, October 31st, we will have a half-day of school, and our annual Costume Party will take place from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. The cost is $5.00, but honor roll students get in free. This is a much-loved event, so make sure your child has their costume ready. There will be snacks and music for everyone to enjoy.

 Fall Break and Election Day
There will be NO school for students from Friday, November 1st through Tuesday, November 5th. This will give everyone time to enjoy a Fall Break. School will resume on Wednesday, November 6th.

Please turn in your Household survey or Benefits form to ensure we can continue to give our scholars free breakfast and lunch.

Lastly, please remember to vote! There is a county-wide Special Education Millage on the ballot, and your voice matters in this important decision.
