Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians of Ypsilanti Community Middle School Scholars,
I hope this letter finds you well as we prepare for an exciting and eventful close to the first semester. I am thrilled to share several important updates and upcoming events with you.
Title 1 Family Math Night
You are warmly invited to our Title 1 Family Math Night on Thursday, December 12th, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage in fun, educational activities that support your scholar’s mathematical growth.
Winter Concert
Immediately following Math Night, we are excited to showcase the incredible talents of our Choir and Band students at the Winter Concert. The concert will take place on Thursday, December 12th, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Please join us in celebrating their hard work and dedication to the arts.
Winter Coats
We are pleased to announce that we have received new coats for our scholars. If your child is in need of a coat, please visit Mrs. Nunez or Principal Davis in the main office to ensure they stay warm this winter.
Half Days & Holiday Break
Please note that Thursday, December 19th, and Friday, December 20th will both be half days, with dismissal at 10:45 AM. December 20th marks the last day of the first semester and the start of our Holiday Break. School will resume on Monday, January 6th.
Staff vs. Student Dodgeball Game
On December 20th, our Elective Team will host the annual Staff vs. Student Dodgeball Game in the gym. This event is always a highlight of the year, and we’re looking forward to some friendly competition!
2nd Annual Sneaker Ball
Mark your calendars for our 2nd Annual Sneaker Ball on Friday, January 10th, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This is a dress to impress event where students are encouraged to pair stylish sneakers with their outfits. Last year’s party was a tremendous success, and we’re excited to make this year’s even better! Please note: students who receive discipline referrals during the week of the event will not be allowed to attend. We will have a DJ.
No School on January 20th
There will be no school on Monday, January 20th, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
